Water Front Memories

Hello all my scrappy friends! This chilly damp weather has me looking forward to a spring break beach trip and the new Water Front stamp set in Stampin’ Up’s Occasions catalog was just the perfect pick me up. It brings back memories from living in South Texas as a child and requesting a camping trip to the beach every year for my birthday. Now as an adult with a family of my own I have children that love the beach as much as I do. Beach trips involve lots of close friends and family and I love the memories that we make together. There is nothing like sitting on the beach and digging your toes into the sand and chatting with your best friend or your sister. I’m also the crazy kite lady. I always have to pack a kite to take to the beach. The breeze is just right. So till March gets here I’m just going to have to pacify myself by making pretty beach scenes with this lovely stamp set. Warm wishes everyone! Let’s chat soon.

Last but not least here are a few of my favorite people to hangout with at the beach. My sister Dawn and best friend Missy and my daughter Victoria.

Wetlands thank you card

Today’s card was inspired by my love for the beach. It has a whisper white cardstock base with Pool Party blue matting and ink. I used my Aqua Painters to get a watercolor effect. The stamps are all from the Stampin Up Wetlands set which happens to be a favorite of mine. This set has been around for awhile but is still in the annual catalog and gets inked up a lot. The fence is my favorite part of this card and it is a piece of rough burlap that I pulled threads to get that effect. The sand pipers are just darling and make me want to make a quick trip to the beach this weekend. There is not much better than sitting on the beach all day with my family along with my best friend and her children. We make an annual trip to the beach with several families and it is something I look forward to every year.
Someone actually asked me if we gathered up all the kids on the beach and took this picture and I laughed and said “no”.  This happens to be all friends and family.
