Gotta Love “Everything Eleanor”!

Everything Eleanor & Trust God stamp sets
Good morning everyone! I hope you are having an incredible weekend, maybe doing something exciting or relaxing on the couch. I have worked most of this weekend but finally got a chance for some papercrafting therapy. I don’t know why cutting, coloring and gluing relaxes me, but it does. I guess that’s why I have never pursued digital scrapbooking. I tell myself card making and scrapbooking is cheaper than therapy, right?

I have been exploring challenges out in the blogging world and have really enjoyed them. It helps to get the mojo flowing and definitely makes me think outside the box. I was really excited to be chosen as a runner up in last weeks Water Cooler Wednesday Challenge. Congratulations to Lynn for winning with a beautiful Ombré sleigh ride card.

Todays card was inspired by the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. I really struggled with Rita’s sketch at first but then I started looking around my desk and found a scrap of Everyday Chic designer series paper. That set the base color for my card. I used a basic black card base and cut a piece of Whisper White paper into the banner shape as shown on the sketch. I started browsing through my stamps to looks for something new or something I hadn’t used in a while and came across the Everything Eleanor stamp set. It is such a lovely feminine set that I bought at one of my first Stampin Up parties. I used the solid mat stamp to stamp a background on the whisper white banner in Pink Pirouette.  I then used the Trust God stamp set to stamp the sentiment using the new archival Basic Black ink. The live simply sentiment fit pefectly on the banner. I then cut a piece of Pink Pirouette ribbon and tied a small knot and adhered it to the front of the card over the everyday chic paper. I cut a smaller banner from the Pink Piroutte ribbon and adhered it under the larger banner. I like the way it came together. Clean and simple which tends to be the way I like to create.
